RETHINKING 2MW

Soon.
Em breve.

The Deadly Syndrome

I was watching Gary Baseman’s video in the Sketch Theatre and look the band in the soundtrack! One of my latest good discovers. Well, I’m trying to make a Brand New Stuff You Should Hear Playlist to post here, but huge corporations tasks and huge good company are taking all my time. Sorry.

Let’s split all in individual posts, meanwhile:

The Deadly Syndrome:

*mp3 – Eucalyptus
*mp3 – Wolves in the Garden

And here’s the Baseman’s video:

Deerhoof

Weirdness can be cute. Or cuteness can be weird. Offend Maggie will be on stores at 6 Oct, but everything leaks nowadays… Here’s a new video Fresh Born and 2 tracks for tasting:

*mp3 – Fresh Born
*mp3 – Offend Maggie

White Denim

It’s a little hard to talk about White Denim because sounds too good for me now. You know when a sound pops on your ears like everything you needed for a lazy Monday? I know you know it, but you never stopped your life to think about it. It’s indie-lo-fi-rock, clearly good influenced by simple and energic 70’s rock.

Their debut full record – Workout Holiday -  is on stores (and around the web) now.

*mp3 – Don’t Look that Way at it
*mp3 – Shake Shake Shake

Pattern is Movement

The name of the band had picked my attention. And for my (not so) surprise, it’s a math rock band. Hm… Math rock is nerd rock, how not be? It’s rhythmically complex, has atypical structures and it’s dissonant. You have to be good to do math! If I were a good nerd and musician, I’d go to math rock, obviously.

If you dig Experimental/Prog-Rock/Nü Jazz, Pattern is Movement has to be in your playlist!

* mp3 – Righ Away – from their latest album, All Together. Also a 7″.
* mp3 – The Severe
* mp3 – Enjoy – Björk cover – Stereogum tribute [Download the whole album here, it's extremely experimental].

2MW wishes a nice weekend!
