[video] Yvette Theraulaz – A tord ou à raison

beautiful video

Fleet Foxes

FF are a great indie-folk band. One of the new good stuff we found around. I’ve posted about them here before, but it deserves a re-post.

Check below a little interview for Last.fm:

And below the beautiful video for the great White Winter Hymnal:

Devendra Banhart

I’m not the biggest fan of Devendra Banhart (even being part of the New Weird America Freak Folk as Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Cocorosie and so on) but this song is really cathy and video is really cool. Check Devendra himself and Natalie Portman in a Bollywood style. And go move your saint body!

Fleet Foxes

Full of minimal sounds and full-band backup vocals, Fleet Foxes are experimental and mysterious indie-folk. This 5-piece band from Seattle has former members of Pedro The Lion, Crystal Skulls and Seldom. And the producer, Phil Ek, has Modest Mouse, Built to Spill and The Shins in his curriculum.

They’ve just released a full self-titled album. Really good stuff. But the previous EP, Sun Giant, is also great.

Check Fleet’s MySpace.

með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

This is the title of Sigur Rós new album and it means ‘With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly’.

They define their style as ’slow motion rock’ but they have an unique formula, their own post-rock, Iceland folk. This new album is nothing drastically different from this formula. But it’s pretty good.
Sounds beautiful and despite not understanding any word (my Icelandic is rusty) it reminds me good things. What’s it all about? Well, do you know what the funk carioca songs say about? lol We’re even.

Very nice to play in a calm autumn afternoon while packing your stuff. Or reading a good book.
